Which Z1000?

Post by Roachy66 »

Hi, with limited funds I want to buy a Z1000. Some have told me that the earlier bikes 03-06 MY is better than the 2nd 07-09 MY?
I would greatly appreciate your views if you have experience with both. I have only ridden an 07 MY.
Cheers :)

I'd have to say the advice you were given is correct ;) Owners of the 2nd gen may disagree though.

The 03-06 had character and look great in orange or green. they will also be a litle cheaper.

03 Look great in orange, 04's in green. Knock yerself out :kuda:

Huh?

Having owned a gen1 in stock form, and ridden Disco's briefly and ridden Hoffy's gen 3 a few times.

Gen 3 is best,
I liked the gen 1 looks best, but honestly can't say I thought the gen2 was crap.

Can't go wrong with any if you ask me.
Except a Z750, they are a little Ghey

As Wattie said. Gen 3 are the pick, but if you don't have the funds for one, I would go for a Gen 1 and put an Ohlins rear shock and ZX6 forks in it, and put a 4 into 1 full system on it with a PC3 and open up the air box.

Ah shit thats a no brainer Gen 3 for sure, but Gen 1 vs Gen 2 another story.

Just at least do the forks.

+1 on the 750, ;)

I've ridden the current model which is awesome but have the hots for an 08 in green. Missed one on ebay recently for $3400. Rediculously cheap.
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

I love the new ones but I still have a soft spot for the originals. Value for money I reckon they ae an awesome bike. Not quite the best blank canvas but still pretty good I reckon
