Well she started & made a few revolutions, sounds beautiful, all that worry for nothing.
Turned out the two batteries we have are the problem, one is buggered & the other went flat fairly quickly but not before she fired. It was the simplest of items & the last thing we tried DOH. The so called good battery came with another bike & don't know it, how quickly will a battery flatten if its cranking away & pumping the fuel pump ? I dont want to buy a new battery if this one is ok.
We did find a bad earth wire on our adventure which would have failed later, the rats had a been living in her for a while gnawing away at the rear brake res cap, rear mudguard & here & there but not too bad.
Thanks again for all your help it really helped.
Regards
Looking forward to the quiet life !

not sure about the zxr750, but the zx7r, to prime the pump without winding the shit out of it.

put in 1st gear, turn on, hit starter, clutch out, bike wont, or shouldnt start, u should hear pump prime.

Good to hear that its sorted :kuda:

a decent battery should be able to crank over for at least 30sec straight, but you don't want to keep cranking for ages - this can cause issues with current draw down the wiring and lead to burning out wires etc.
