Any thoughts on using this to secure the front of a bike in a trailer? If the bike's tied down securely do you think this would be ok without bolting to the floor of the trailer?

You can get a version that you can bolt down. I wouldn't take that chance mate, I can see it sliding around and ending in tears. Either that or use u-bolts to clamp the arms to the trailer, that way you can still take it off.

you need to secure the wheel-clamp first. Otherwise the front of the bike will move around, especially when you hit bumps while turning corners.......

The Kaneg ones bolt down. We have two of them in our trailer and they work great.

Hmmm even if I strap the front down? I want to remove the sidestand from my bike as I went for a lie down when it touched tarmac in a turn.

If you get the Kaneg Trailermate and fix it to your trailer, you just roll the front wheel in and it's done. The bike is held upright, no further strapping needed and no side stand required. You can then secure the rear wheel with a tyre down or similar product.

Can't, I've gotta grind the base it's attached to off the bike.
