ZX6R 2005 - replacement brake pads

Post by vivek67 »

I need new rear brake pads for the zx6 (its a 2005). Question is

1. What makes do people recommend getting?
2. Are there any US sites that ship to australia that I can use (similar to jakewilson?)?

How much effort is it to change them yourself vs getting someone to do it.

Call me old fashoned... but i still use mine... on and off track... maybe to many days on the dirt bikes as a young fella, and old habits die hard, on the old Zs u farkin needed them to get it to turn and hold a line

Mind u, a few GP guys use them... IE our own mick was a rear braker, hayden another one, just to name a few...
Tho, alex gobert tried to get me out of the habit of using it, didnt work :?
Tho in recent times ive sort of eased up on them a bit, still like to drag it into turns tho.

I use rears.

My biggest rear brake moment was sitting behind Dave3 on the oxley on my first gingers trip. Mid corner his brake light come on and I was confused thinking it was his fronts, until he explained to me using the rear to wash of mid corner speed/ tighten up a line. Took me a while to get used to it but i did, then I stopped doing it didn't see the need, just use them going in when braking hard

I disconnected my rear brake light...

Confuses the crap out of people when I go hooting into corners.

I use quite a lot of rear brake. Funnily enough I use of more on the road than the dirt bike.
