tyre warmer repairs

Post by born green »

Well after my trip to MP and QR my kaneg digital warmers shit themselves again... well the front one this time, last time it was the rear.
Last time they replaced the pair with a new set, as they fount it to be faulty.
I noticed after the last session while packing up, that the front one had burnt out, not the box, but the wiring, same as last time.

Now these are about 18 months old, but have only been used about a dozen times, and i allways look after my stuff, allways unplug when taking off, and they are allways cooled down at the end of the day when packing up, and rolled up and put back in bag, and never just chucked around.

Im getting a bit pissed off when u pay $450 odd bucks for a set and only get a dozen uses out of them, as i know this time they wont replace them, so does anyone know if their repairable or not???? or just chuck them and buy another brand that will last longer.
Was talking to wayne at broady some time ago, and he said he still has his first set of sportsbike warmers that were 16 years old and never missed a beat.. thats got to be better value than a dozen uses at $450 a set

Or has anyone tried chicken hawk warmers that champions sell? if so how are they going?
As im done with these current ones ive been using.

Cheers

Can't comment on the kaneg warmers, but there must be a fault if only got a dozen uses out if them!!
Surely if you called them and explained you might get some satisfaction from them? Isn't the owner on this forum?

Chicken hawk are supposed to be the dogs dangles, I heard nothing but good things about them. Expensive tho, a lot of race teams use them!

Hi mate,
Even tho they have only been used a dozen times, they are long out of warranty. tho as i said, last time they were replaced, and they were 6 months out of warranty then too. but that was done here in melbourne by someone else... im just sick of them fucking up all the time, as i do take good care of them, this time i was lucky as they burnt out at the end of the last session i did, tho there still was one to go, i sat that out as the rear tyre was shot, and wasnt going risk the last session, but would have been a really unhappy chappy if they shat themselves early in the day.

Can get a good deal on the chicken hawks from champions....

I would talk directly with Kaneg mate. Good people they are, they may help you out. Otherwise, I have mine sitting in Mike's shed and they are for sale. They are a UK brand (Can't remember off hand) and have been used maybe 15 times?? They work well, but are a set temp warmer. let me know if your interested and we can work something out. But talk to Kaneg first.

Pretty sure (Pete) Kaneg is way out of pocket for that batch of digital warmers he got a few years back.
The Non digital of the same batch seemed to be a lot better....

Anyhow..... Kaneg have a new supplier/manufacturer, now Italian made.
So if you don't have any luck sourcing some second hand and don't want to pay the excessive price for Chicken Hawkes etc, give Kaneg a call or a PM and he can fill you in on the new type he stocks.... check em here.. and don't forget the ksrc discount http://www.kaneg.com.au/categories/Tyre-Warmers/

Cheers,
Must have got a few sets of them, as i said, the first set burnt out in about the same time and useage as these ones i got.
The rep justin down here was good with a replacement set, just not so sure they will do it again, but will chase it up..

Talk to Pete at kaneg, Dave.

He might not replace them due to the age but I'm sure he will look after you. He's a good guy.

My kanegs are still going strong after 7-8years, mine are adjustable temp as well.

Pete is a genuine seller and tries to look after his customers. Give him a call.

Firey on here fixes the Kaneg ones if possible but he has said if the problem is in the wiring then the are gone.

Chicken hawk and bandit warmers are the bomb. The new Kaneg ones are also in that league now he has his new Italian supplier.

Sportsbike warmers have gone backwards over the last few years. Firey also does there warranty work and has seen a mass increase of issues from them Over the last few years.

Yer its the wiring thats gone, pretty sure there not really repairable.

Yer ive read a bit about sportsbike warmers going down hill of late, guess there made in china these days???

I can get a set of chicken hawks for around $550 which is prob ball park for good ones??

I will get in contact, but i dont and wont expect a replacement as there 18 months old, and justin has allready replaced these once..

Cheers for feedback.

Hey Dave,

Just read the comments above and what can I say, all that has been said is pretty much on the money.
Give me a call on 0414712419 so we can work something out.
We haven't dealt with Justin for close to 3 years now and I doubt he'll have a solution which would please you.
The new warmers we have been selling for 12 months without a single failure of any sort.

Cheers,

Pete

The new Kaneg warmers are awesome! We have two sets of them and they are much warmer and even in temperature, are easier to put on and have not been an issue for anyone. I had two of the old digital warmers burn out on me as well, but Pete went out of his way to look after me so when these new warmers arrived we bought a set. After trying them for a few months I needed another set of warmers and didn't hesitate to get a second set of his new warmers.
