eBay freight costs

Post by Blurr »

I have recently purchased a couple of items from a Melbourne based seller. Now in the adds it clearly stated free freight. One of them I even made an offer that clearly stated 'including postage'.

Now I should clear up that both items are from the same seller.

Anyways I went to pay for both items and they have tried to hit me up for postage. When questioned they have claimed the it is a iPad / iPhone app issue on my end, not a mistake on their end. Has anyone else encountered his? I see shipping amounts quite clearly for other items.

Am I being a hard arse by standing my ground and not paying the $15 shipping as apparently crash knobs are very heavy ( I hate when sellers communicate with you like your a newbie idiot).

Anyways your thoughts?

My problem is my wife selling stuff on eBay with 8 bucks postage that costs about 18 to post....

I'm going to change the password I think.
She's just costing me money.

Never had that problem myself.

I think if it says free postage it's free hold your ground.
Did you look at the eBay add not going through the app? Does it say the same?I do every thing through the app and never come across that doesn't seem right to me.

If you can get the items somewhere else i'd politely tell him to stick it.Postage issues i reckon are the number one thing that ticks people off on ebay.
I bought a few items off an ebay store guy and asked nicely if he'd combine them to save some of the shipping cost.Patronised me and refused but sent all the shit together in one package anyways.Carnt.

Seller should stick to what he advertised even if it's costing him money. Once he realized he should have charged postage edit his advert accordingly. and from then on he gets that postage, if people still find his deal reasonable. :kuda:

Tell him you are going to Report him to eBay, he will probably drop the freight charges.

When you get the goods follow through and report him, then hopefully others don't have to suffer the same.

yes if it is advertised free postage legally he has to give you free postage,no questions ask because at the end of the day he had to select what type of postage charge to put on the item and he selected free.Report the prick

Does it make a difference to opinion if they stated that there was a postage cost in the description? Not that I read that fully before winning the auction

I had a similar thing re payment once. The stupid bitch seller had payment methods set as Paypal etc and had a PayPal account but then in the body of her ad said she only accepted direct deposit. I ended up in a blue with her cancelled my Paypal transaction and told her to sod off.

I'd tell the bloke to shove it Russ and report him . I'm sick of dickhead sellers on EBay

You have to select PayPal as an option you don't have a choice, you can then write in the body of the add that you prefer bank deposit but you still need to accept PayPal.

Russ, I think it makes it a little greyer as I think in terms and conditions of bidding would state that you have read the whole add before bidding. But in the sellers terms and conditions it would state they need to clearly show postage costs under postage.....

Whereabouts is this eBay seller?

G,day blurr the item from me went this morn..should see it Monday i reckon.
Postage costs 2 Beers..
Stick to your guns with ebay..use paypal or ebay transaction dispute process. Its advertised as free freight i would make them honour it, what's it going to cost them $10..
The boy Youngs disciplinary record this week has been nothing but deplorable.
