Vicpol appologises, got it totally wrong but did they!

Post by Jonno »

Early July I received a penalty notice for apparently driving a vehicle that wasn't e-toll registered in Melbourne feb this year, I nearly paid it until I checked the rego of the offending vehicle, it wasn't my rego at all :?

So after a few letters, many frustrating phone calls and signing the back of the penalty notices on every one they kept sending, they finally accepted my claim and reluctantly checked the rego which supported my claim I have never owned this vehicle with the stated rego

The funny thing is I was at that place on that date and time driving next to another SA registered vehicle (you take notice of these things) as we went under a toll boom together side by side, the camera probably got confused and billed the wrong owner (I dont have the vehicle listed with the e-toll)

Anyway, it was a somewhat lengthy process and very difficult to correspond with this department but in the end reverse injustice prevailed and chaos was the order of the day :kuda:

They might have been going on your ugly mug and decided that was worth a fine in it's self   Congradulations on the victory though, but it makes you wonder how many innocent people get done and just pay it?

Amazing they state first that no further action will be taken...

Wow you got an apology! I had a similar experience in NSW and after months of harassing letters and fartarseing around, I got a similar letter saying the infringement was withdrawn with no further action.

No acceptance of their blunder though.
