Gday, can anyone tell me where the fuel filter is located on the ZX6? I am guessing it is on the fuel pump and that I have to pull it out of the tank to inspect/change it?
I just want to have a look at it as I had a miss which disappeared after a while at high revs - at first I thought it was a coil pack or plug but the fact it went away has me leaning towards a dirty fuel filter (I have had the bike for three years and done 55k on it and never inspected or changed it.
Thanks
Ben

Yeah if it's like the zx10, you have to dismantle the pump, which isn't hard to do. I did it last week

How blocked was it?Wattie wrote:Yeah if it's like the zx10, you have to dismantle the pump, which isn't hard to do. I did it last week
There is nothing in the service schedule about cleaning it. I imagine its just a screen filter in the pump intake.
thinking I might do it 40,00km's of fuel its bound to be full of crud isn't it ?

Re: ZX6RR Fuel Filter
fair enough might give it a go, this is all the manual has to say about it.
Fuel Filter Cleaning
○The fuel filter [A] is built into the pump and can not be
cleaned or checked.
If the pump screen or fuel filter is suspected of clogging
or being damaged, replace it with the fuel pump as a set.
