Re: Anyone we know...?
"Alleged" 50 over the limit, automatic disqualification and impound vehicle, the impounding yard out Liverpool way was probably full from the ricers street racing so cheaper/easier to impound the plates and not the bike, just a guess on my part.
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

Re: Anyone we know...?
I'm sorry but who gives a flying toss of the circumstances. The rules are there, they aren't harsh. Double the speed limit says bad luck. I have done over the limit, knowingly and willingly if I get caught I believe it is bad luck.
Whether it is a school zone, nearly hit a child, or did kill someone we focus on the wrong part of the law, that is we punish the result not the action. Imagine I aim a gun at you and shoot 6 times, but because I am a shit shot I can only be tried for attempted murder, however if I am a good shot and kill you then I can be up for actual murder, my intention is the same, only my ability is lacking

Fair dues seems a bit harsh,
there's a time & place to give it plenty but this ain't it when your on your L-Plates.

The boy Youngs disciplinary record this week has been nothing but deplorable.

Re: Anyone we know...?
Damn thats a bummer! Its quite possible it was a bit after 9 - school zones still in effect till 9:30 n sounds like its one of those deals where its a 70 zone or thereabouts in normal hours, not condoning it but its something that anyone could have done, just needs to not notice a school zone sign.. Gonna be taking the bus for awhile!
pretty sure it will end up being 9 months outa action cos of the points.. I made a point of having a big lcd clock blu tacked onto the dash so I wouldn't fall in the trap of not knowing if its school time or not.. Not easy to read a watch under a jacket

Too Harsh........... Nearly 90, so he was actually doing 80 something in a usual 70 zone, 15 or so over outside School times, poor bugger.MadKaw wrote:nearly 90kph in the 40kph zone.
Police have suspended the man’s licence for six months and issued a speeding fine worth $2296.
Officers also used new legislation to confiscate the man’s motorcycle registration plates.
I was doing 42 in a school zone on Sunnyholt Rd yesterday in the truck. A Copper with his hair dryer, hiding behind a telegraph pole (his car around the corner) just pointed at me and then his shook his head while tapping his watch. It was 9:20. The kids were all in their classes, plus there is a foot bridge over the road, so this has nothing to do with protecting the children. The Hawkesbury Local Area Commannd has 6 Highway Patrol cars and 2 General Duties cars, does that indicate their intentions !!!!

Re: Anyone we know...?
Exactly right Rob. Plenty of other more important jobs rather than patrolling a school zone with the kids in class. Like booking the caged farker on his phone sitting in neutral at a green ligh. Or the morons that don't get the keep left unless overtaking rule. See it all day every day.robracer wrote:Bloody good point but not enough of that being done .... its rampant, I seriously can not believe how many people I see every day on the phone & textingWattie wrote:, and bust wankers on mobile phones

Like these guys?
This part of the Hume is 110km/h
And you have a stream of trucks that are 100km speed limited in the 3rd of 4 lanes.
Keep left unless overtaking fuck sticks.

They trialed the trippples down here about a month ago to see what corners in towns would need changing.Wattie wrote:Like these guys?

Re: Anyone we know...?
They might attend accidents, but they leave the reports and everything else to the GDs. RBT blitzes are a mix of highway and GDs and GDs would pick up more drink drivers doing patrols than highway do. That leaves highway to monitor bad driving and mobile phone use (which they do poorly in my opinion) and chasing speeders. It's the fact that they devote 99% of their efforts to chasing speeders that shits me. It's ok to be an incompetent driver, just don't go over the pathetically low speed limit or we will empty your wallet.Wattie wrote:And bust drink drivers, and attend accidents, and bust wankers on mobile phonesrobracer wrote:Yeah they book people for dangerous fender eliminatorsWattie wrote:HWP do other things besides book people for speeding you know

As for school zones. The latest my school finishes is 2:35, yet the lower speed limit is in effect until 4:30. If you drive past the school at 4:25 it is a ghost town and all the gates are locked, yet you are still expected to drop your speed to 40. We have no lights on any of the signs around this district either, so you never know when the lower limit has started or stopped.
If the L plater doing 90 in the school zone was doing it when the students were arriving or leaving, then he deserves everything he got, but they never give the full story when they report these incidents so you don't really know if he was being an idiot or not.

School zones are set times to make it easier for drivers to get right.
Complain lots! Then we will be doing 40 all year round, all day long!
