Fuggin Team Homo sold me my ZRX. Was a demonstrator and they told me was a demo for two weeks. I checked it out afterwards and it was a demo for FIVE MONTHS. C*nts did me out of four and a half months warranty. Dirty slimeballs.

Team moto is obviously the same as Sumoto here in Melbourne, specialise in grey imports and 250's have a reputation that stinks worse than Gosmeisters bourbon farts.

Took it into team moto today who reckon everything looked fine, didn't take forks out just played with the adjustment, set it to standard settings and gave it back, no charge though .

Buggered if I know what the hells going on Matt from Cahampionship ride days is pretty respected around the track and said there was something really wrong.

Guess I'm going to have to get someone to look at them, Matt said if I took them out and delivered them it would be $150 maybe for an easy fix, MPE at Caboolture had previously quoted $400 to revalve and respring, which seems really cheap (I guess not ohlins stuff but still).

So I'm thinking thats the way to go, anyone got better ideas I'm open to your thoughts, as I am obviously clueless

Hey Russ, is there anyone else you know of you can take the bike to? I'm away for 2.5more weeks btw so I'm out not that I'd be much help. Without knowing if and what the problem is Matt et al can only guesstimate quotes. It could be nothing, it could be something, but if you are concerned then I agree at some point someone's going to have to look at the front end incl them, inside and out. FWIW a few of the guys at the track have used MPE and I havent heard anyone complaining, my understanding is they modify stock parts to work better so suits the budget minded.

Thanks Rich, I'm thinking MPE is the way to go $ wise, though a couple of guys mentioned Micks Bike and car tyres in brendale as doing good rebuilds on fork and shocks, $1500 for ohlins, so will see what he thinks as a first stop as he is close to home.

if its the same mike, from tyres for bikes at albion years ago, i would say yep, he knows his stuff, just ask him if that was him, i think it is?? he would be 50ish, and been around a long time.

Sounds like him, I just dropped in to see him in the car (picking up kids from school) and he said have a look at it for nothing, spoke about how the gumby pushes the front through corners, checked the spring rates standard for my weight, and quoted a few pretty cheap sounding options for getting things set right.

Will drop it in tomorrow and get a better idea, probably will need to change the rear spring, and at least oil in the front but will know more then.

And bonus to top off a good arvo, I might have secured a job at least promising, I was starting to get worried as my long service leave runs out in October when I discharge from the army, and I even though the kids could live in a cardboard box that wouldn't cut it for the bike

Sounds like mike, if it is the same dude, he will know his shit, worked on and settup a lot of race bikes it the 90s.
I just sold a well setup rear shock off a gumby Tho u prob didnt want to hear that, and its seems to be working well in the bike its in now
Depending on ur rider weight, if around the 90 kg's or a bit more, i would say a 10 kg spring, would be ball park in the shock. in the front i ran 1kg race tec springs, but there in the same bike the shock went to ...

The front end push is usally problems from the rear, as in they squat real bad when hard on the gas. the front on them is really not to bad, but do respond well to a bit of lovin..

Saw mike this morning, really great bloke, checked evrything out (which all seems fine ) set the sag, I took for a spin, made a few adjustments, another spin and it feels completely different, way more stable, couple of adjustment and Mike took out as he was wondering why the zip tie had so much clearance (almost 50mm) when the forks compress under braking (this may be what had someone else confused when they looked at it)

Mike seemed to think that because my brembo's are so bloody awesome the front end isn't compressing all the way like they would if you really grab a handful.

All in all really happy, just means I need to ride it a lot harder Mike charged me nothing, gave me some idea's for when i really want to get serious, (ohlins valves, heavier rear spring etc) and sent me on my way on much better feeling bike. Also suggested dropping the front by lowering the triple tree by 3mm on the fork and seeing how that felt, which should stop the front end push in corners (sounds like a good weekend project)

So if you're in Brisbane, Mikes bike and car tyres at Brendale, great bloke who really seems to know his stuff

I'm aiming for the 29th at QR with you guys, but should be at MP the weekend before on the 22/23, and there will be a trackday on the Friday the 21st I think, which I'm pushing for but might not make. Borngreen said he might be there also on that Friday and it's a completely new track for you to have a look at, do it!

QR, is locked in, looks like it will be rideday only at MP on the friday, was looking at the coaching day on the thursday,but fri seems to be what will happen. new track, so that will be fun.

Mikes allways been like that, was the only guy i dealt when i needed tyres, and i used to go thru a lot, banged out a lot of Ks back then. good to see he is still goin. havent seen him for many years, been in melbourne since 97.but great to hear hes still goin, look after people and they will come back.

Maybe someone should ask him if he wants to be a sponsor? god knows we need more good shops out there??
