Kawasaki Deny Biaggi Rumour (WOOHOO!!)
Following rumours at the French Grand Prix, which alleged that Repsol Honda's Max Biaggi had been offered 3.5-million euros to join Kawasaki, team green has told Crash.net that no such approach for the Roman's services has or intends to be made.
Biaggi used his official website to comment on the rumours - saying he was flattered, but happy with Honda - however it seems the whispers were more than a little 'premature'.
"We don't know how the rumours concerning Kawasaki and Max Biaggi started, but they are just that; rumours," a team spokesman told Crash.net. "Kawasaki have not approached Max Biaggi, nor are there any plans for us to do so.
"Of course, we have an eye to the future, and we are looking at a number of riders who we might wish to talk to about riding for Kawasaki, but Max Biaggi is currently not one of them," he added.
Kawasaki's best finish so far this season is a second, claimed by Olivier Jacque at Shanghai, while Repsol Honda and Biaggi's best is a third place at Estoril.
Alex Hofmann is due to return from injury to join fellow ZX-RR regular Shinya Nakano next time out at Mugello, while star replacement rider Jacque could be offered some kind of test/wild-card deal to remain with the team.

Gotta agree with Neka... OJ would be a better prospect than Hoffman.

Not a matter of not Liking the old slowman.. He seems like a really nice kid IMO.
But just lacks the heart to really make the bike perform, OJ was able to outperfom 18+ months of hoffmans results with barely any time on the bike.. Results driven from a desire to prove something, and Hoffy at this point just doesn't seem to have it, and IMO team Eckl is in a position that really requires a rider who will go out and push it like OJ has ech week and help Kawasaki step forward with development.
For example, the test rider, was lapping from memory 10 seconds slower than Nakano in pre-season testing.. Now what on earth is that test rider going to be able to test in race type conditions??? If he can't put the tyres, engine, suspension, etc, etc, under the same amount of pressure as the guys riding the bike, then any data collected is not a true representation of what the bike would be going through under race conditions.. That's my opinion anyway... Otherwise Kawasaki's first choice to replace Hoffman would have been the test rider and not someone outside of the team. IMO a serious test rider for a struggling developming team should be up there with the riders who are racing.. esp when they 1 of them is coming in at 9th-17th (maybe 11th-17th) place each week, which means they aren't realistically on the pace.
Anyways I really do hope Kawa get there , I just don't believe Hoffa is going to be the rider to take them there.
