levers, a question...

After mondays long ride I have decided that i need/ want my clutch lever to be closer/ adjustable...

I seem to have quite short and fat fingers

which makes the standard non adjustable clutch lever on my zthou a little bit of a stretch, not unreasonable but having the lever a little bit closer would be very nice!

So my question is are there any other kawasaki's that the standard clutch is adjustable which would fit on my 2010 z1000? ie zx10r?

I do NOT want short levers!

I can't really justify buying Pazzo's or other expensive aftermarket items at the moment! I have read what people have said good and bad about chazzos and i'm not ruling them out as yet!

Any one got aftermarket levers on their z1000? Pics?

Any one got standard kwak items that would suit laying around?

Had these on for 9 months/12000kms - NO issues whatsoever ... they work!!!

Take no notice of the "brand name" wankers ...

Bought a few sets of these and never a problem.

One set survived a big off at PI and apart from a few scratches were still fine.

Chazzos...or loosen tension of on cable so pull starts closer to bar..

Hmmm, ordering chazzo's now if they are shit its only $30

Now please let's not turn this into chazzo vs pazzo lever debate! There is enough of that on here already

Was just interested to know if there was an oem lever that would suit...

There are Kawasaki levers that interchange between models, but finding the right part is harder than it appears.

And one Kawi lever will equal the price of 2-3 PAIRS of the Chazzo's ..

ZRX's and ZX9's have adjustable clutch levers. Not sure if they fit though.

I brought a set of Chazzos from The2Wheels also.

Fitted them up and lined up everything correcly, rode for about 2 minutes, did a couple of slow brakes then the brakes firmly and reasonably quickly locked on pulled the bike up to a stop in the middle of the road. Lucky for me I wasn't pulling out onto a busy street or in the middle of an intersection.

The hole in the brake lever for the pin of the master cylinder to sit in was too small.

I had to knock on a few doors to borrow a spanner to remove the lever.

Got home and removed the insert to drill the hole bigger and the circlip retaining it broke so it went i the too hard basket.

It probaby comes down to having the diligence and experience to not miss the problem, and I'm sure they've got it sorted now after people abusing them because they've binned their bikes.

I've got no issue with the quality of materials on my set, just beware the brake locking issue, it's elsewhere on the net too and people haven't been as lucky as I.

the funny thing is - the quality control of chinese shit is so random - people like Ron can get a good set that work just like they are meant to, and people like Tim and hundreds of others - get crap that doesn't work at all

this is the peculiar dichotomy of Chazzos.

I prefer OEM anyway - it always fits and it always works.
