How does someone go about buying a bike from another state?
How do you pay without getting ripped?
Then organise transport.

Re: Buying a bike interstate?
theres a few people here in each state so you can hit one of those people up to go have a look, if anyone ever finds anything in perth and wants it looked at hit me up.
payment would be by electronic means
and transport there are plenty of mobs around who will pickup and deliver bikes

You have to have a lot of trust - going both ways.2010zx6r wrote:How does someone go about buying a bike from another state?

One of my mates advertised his 950 SE KTM. He got a call from a bloke located in WA - who worked on an oil rig !!

It can be done, but do your homework, get photos and proof of residency, licence etc .

Re: Buying a bike interstate?
I have looked at many bikes for memebrs in here in Sydney that were interstate, some purchased some didnt, all on my advise.
Depends if you have someone you can trust, I know when Glenno got his ZRX, he sent Marty who busted the sellers chops and the deal was done, Glenno got a good deal too

I could have a bike for you to have a look at if you wouldn't mind. Im waiting on further info on bike. If I'm interested if ok with you I'll pm you the details.Phil wrote:I have looked at many bikes for memebrs in here in Sydney that were interstate, some purchased some didnt, all on my advise.

Besides buying a lemon my other concern is payment. Just because you get their personal details, doesn't really stop anyone trying to rip you off. Is there a company that handles that sort of thing?

I feel sory for those guys on oil rigs, those scammy bastards have turned their distance-purchasing into a royal headache. But it can be done.Gosling1 wrote:You have to have a lot of trust - going both ways.2010zx6r wrote:How does someone go about buying a bike from another state?

no shit this is all true. My mate rang the company - turned out it was all legit, he did work on the rig etc. They did the deal over the phone with some photos etc - then the money turned up in Pete's account, so he confirmed the bike transport and away the bike went.....

I found out that a few transport company can organize a bill of sale you also. At a small price.
Anyway no need as already found a bike and paying in person.
