What dirt bike?

Post by Blurr »

250 is all you'll need if it is only dirt duties.

They are light, nimble and a bit cheaper than the bigger bore bikes.

Its only when the roads opens up that you will feel you need more grunt.

Take a 2T Katoom 300 EXC for a blat .
CRF450X Hoonda is a handful to the uninitiated ;)

re the big banger 2T's of old .......... .. A KX500 now there's a bike for real men!! Imagine more power than a CR500 with less handling and brakes than a CT110 postie :kuda: :kuda:

Can't this sat mate next weekend looks good :)

Back on topic, less is more on the dirt. as your probably aware.
If your experienced a 250-300cc smoker would be a hoot.
If you want a 4 stroke, I highly reccomend my newest love, te310 husky :). Or a ktm350 if you have the extra cashola :) :)
Or for the bigger bore 4st the KTM 500's or husky 510/511's seem the pics. Oh and husabergs (which are pretty much blue KTM's)
Pics when it happens :)
anyone can go fast in a straight line,,,,

GO THE 2 STROKE! a few mates have ktm300's and they can't say anything but good about them load of power very light and flickable, i am currently looking into the ktm200 they are very light and fast! and cause its cheap to rego cause we don't have rec rego in nsw :( i owned a drz400 for 3 years it was a great thing there was nothing it coudn't do and you couldn't kill it if you treid. its a tough call what to get there is so many good bikes on the market the european beast seem like the weapon of choice now for sure.

The more I think about it a Euro 300 smoker is the best pick IMO.

The KX5 is like a stick of dynamite when it got on the pipe and thats where as the CR5 was a better bike to manage off the MX track.

Nelso have a look at an XR600. Probably more of a challenge to motard but they are great in the bush. I know someone who had a DR650 with motard rims...

2T is super cheap on parts & consumables, no filters etc, for example the top end rebuild for the 250 Husky is about $350 and Mike honestly its a piece of piss to do the work yourself 8)
Preping the Premix is about as hard as it gets :P

and the more Jap it is the more it will cost you sooner.

Whatever you do dont buy a grenading CRF Honda
Easy there Tiger , have a look in a KTM dealers back of workshop Mike , then drop round to your Yamaha dealers back of workshop .

Ah yes huskys Awsome holes in the bottom of the airbox??
The quick fix is cut some old air filter up and jam in there, stops alot of water but will still allow any water/air filter oil inside to slowly drain out.

Ah that'd also work :)
I notice it when I cleaned the filter, there were 3 really dirty bits in the bottom of the filter, look in the airbox and there's 3 small holes in the bottom, didn't wanna plug them up though cause they'll be handy if water ever gets in 8)

I'll go check my plug cap now ;)
