Flashlube

Post by AussieZed »

A mate of mine recently did a head gasket on his CB1000 - while the head was off he thought that it would be a good time for a valve grind and general clean-up.

To his surprise (and most everyone else's) the valves and seats were like new, with next to no deposits or visible wear. He claims to have used Flashlube in every tankfull of petrol since he bought the bike in 1999/2000.

It had 11000kms on it then, and has 68000 on it now. Either the stuff actually works or the valves and seats are bloody hard. !!

Anyone else had any experience with it. ??

why he waste money...?
Flashlube is used to combat valve seat recession problems in vehicles
NOT equipped for unleaded petrol,
the Honda surely is equipped for ULP...
it has VERY hard valve seats

cheers

Yep.... it is a ULP version, but stuff still wears out.

He told me that he wanted to take care of the top end of the bike, I dunno how much the Flashlube cost him over the years, but it sure took care of the valves and bore. He just bolted the head back on an it was good to go. Maybe it wasn't wasted at all.
