ZRX Ignition Advancer -Ordering from ZRXOA
I've got Kwicks +4 on mine. Most noticeable difference was how much smoother it is. Pete's a great bloke to deal with as well. I think I got one off the eBay store
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

You can advance timing below 5000rpm by disconnecting the throttle position sensor. Free mod. Has worked well on my bike.

2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R
Yeah I like Kawasakis.

I intend to buy the +4 advancer from him, with a few other bits at the same time. At the moment I'm still checking and setting the bike up as original, before I change it later. At the moment the suspension and the brakes are apart and about to pull the carbys out as well. If you're interested, I'll be in Sydney on the weekend of 30/6 if you want to catch me up there. Otherwise, call me on 0402322941.

Might have to see about arranging a ZRXOA meeting, mnot that it will rival the YTrap Rally or anythinggarybrook wrote:I intend to buy the +4 advancer from him, with a few other bits at the same time. Re: ZRX Ignition Advancer -Ordering from ZRXOA
I've spoken with IanH as I'll pick up his exhaust during that same weekend, and Ill be staying with my family in the Gladesville. Let me know if we can have a drink, or two. I'll suggest that to Ian as well. My mobile # is noted above. Cheers.
p.s. I just cleaned out the oil from the forks, for the first time I think. It was pretty awful and Iflushed it out with fuel/solvent. Right now I've filled it with auto trans oil until I decide what I'll do with the dampers/springs/valves. Until then I'll order the copper washers, seals and dust covers so that I can completely disassemble the forks until I replace the new parts.
At the same time, I bought a full set of front disk bolts (10) as they were stuck with two different coloured (red + blue) anaerobic sealants, and the torques was all over the place, and three of them were jammed, as well as damaged. It's no wonder that It took a while to get the 'new' discs off.
I found that the new discs were straight but the metal shims were binned at some time, as apparently they allow some movement for the disks on the hub. Hopefully they'll be fine when they're properly tensioned as the dics have little float once they're off the hub.

KiwiMat,
I've sent another PM to KiwiMat but I haven't received a response about the buy, or a drink/meal in Sydney.
Phil, did you receive any other offers about a meet. At the moment I'll meet up with IanH and, later on - Nelso, about ZRX gear. Let me know will you, otherwise I'll be drinking by myself, again.

Re: ZRX Ignition Advancer -Ordering from ZRXOA
That might be ok on carby bikes but if you have injection and/or a power commander it's a bad idea as the injection timing and duration is partially controlled by the throttle position sensor. Jim Beam is a good idea. One shot is a bad idea, 20+ shots is a goooood idea.bonester wrote:You can advance timing below 5000rpm by disconnecting the throttle position sensor. Free mod.
