Turning in the driveway...

I'm getting sick of doing three and four point turns in the driveway, just wondering if this is a wise thing to do.

Will it damage the stand or anything on my z1000?

Carefull...some driveways are slippery..I mean the stand might slip put..

Yep that's how I've always turned my bikes since I first started riding.

Super easy to do and makes life easy in the garage in particular

Sure is an easy way to do it. Don't know that it's what your stand is designed for so you probably should be a little careful.

Cant be fkd watching the vid (work computers are weetods) but I know the move. I've done it once or twice but only on flat ground (Cement) and only when it was a must.

I bought a Anderson Space Saver stand for just this reason - moving a bike around a single garage that also needed to hold a car and random shite... made life a breeze being able to trolley the bike anywhere i pleased.

Yep, don't want to sound like a "smart-arse but I have been doing this ever since i was a pimple faced brat, it's easy and always pull the back wheel round first so the stand don't collapse on ya

Using a space saver seems to me to take more time than a four point turn.............I was thinking of something like a turntable (hehehe like what they use in Thomas the tank engine

I like the space saver stand but in my situation its not a possibility. I am concerned about how much stress is put on the stand mounting point, just wanted some opinions...

Yea, used to do it all the time on my old bike - easy as - but the new Kwaka I find almost impossible, doesn't balance very well on the side stand for some reason. It's a shit because my driveway and garage are really tight, I end up doing a 10-point turn ....

I do it all the time as well, even occasionally with the ZRX despite it having an aluminium aftermarket stand.

I do it on my smaller bikes. One of my GN250s broke the sidestand off though twice, once on the stand itself, and it also broke the section of frame completely off too.

Just be aware that if you do it regularly, it can flog out the side stand bolt and the mount and even in some cases eventually break off the mount lug. I used to do it with the Rex till I realised it was flogging the bolt out. Once I replaced the bolt, I stopped doing it. If the bike is smaller, naturally a lot less stress and less chance of damage over time.
