Kawasaki ZX-14R 2012 Model Fuel Economy

Post by BIG T »

Hi Everyone,I have just purchased a 2012 Model Kawasaki ZX-14R and I am very impressed compared to my 2009 Model Busa I traded in.My question is how much should I expect out of a tank of fuel.Firstly being when it is being ridden normally and secondly when I am having some fun. Thanks in advance to everybody.Cheers Tony

You will get SFA while its being run-in mate. Maybe 120km at the most from first tank, it will slowly get better....

My current average is 17.4 Km/l I have never done a run to see how many k's I can get out of a tank, but guess it would be around 300 depending on riding style.
That figure of 17.4 is a fairly quiet ride (read wet) normally around 15 to 16Km/l Mine was quite thirsty for the first 2k's and still freeing up around 3k's seems to have settled down now with nearly 4.5k's
The word is "dont be to conservative with the run in"
What dealer did you get your 14R from Crazy Dogs ?

Enjoy!

in the us they say any where from 200 if your thrashing it to 250-300 on a full tank
not sure if its accurate but sounds right :?

300 plus easy when your having a go and 350 plus when your cruising.
Ride it for a few minutes, the average fuel usage is displayed on the dash and multiply by 22 (tank capacity) eg 16k/ltr x 22ltrs = 352 k's.
The display continuously adjusts while your riding. It will display your usage along with how many k's left in the tank.
But it's all useless, you still fuel up every 200k's, cause that's as far as your mates bikes can get.

@ FRED yes I did buy it from CRAZY DOGS and I have nothing but praise for them great service and price.I also have the green seat cowl and on order a centre stand  .They were the best price by far $18,050 ride away and service with a smile great stuff. To everyone else thanks for info on fuel true you do not buy a sports bike for fuel economy but sometimes you do ride it normally and tour so info is helpful  .
