To rego or not?

I did grow up on motocross bikes so I won't exactly be starting out at dirt riding, it's just been 20 years or so between drinks. Leanne is the one who has never done it so we are thinking maybe a klx/drz400 or even a 250 for her to start with. I'm thinking I would want at least a 450. If I get a chance I wouldn't mind taking a few jap 450's and some 500+ Euro's for a spin to see what is likely to suit me.

how tall is leanne? i find the drz quite tall, only can just touch the ground and in hairy situations it is even harder.
you can lower any bike, but then you lower its clearance which ant really a great thing when log hopping

She's 5'8" or 172cm. She sat on a KLX450 the other day and it was fine.

the drz's have a high seat, my new bikes seat height is lower
have a look on the net and youll find the numbers

shes roughly the same height as me so should be alright, i have however got a lower than standard seat.

will she be able to pick it up, they are quite heavy when there on their side

Jonno's Husky went bloody great as well. Did everything right and climbed some hills that the other couldn't . Even if the rider was very rusty
