Re: 1982 GPZ 550
Well, here it is. Ended up getting it pretty much for the buy it now price. The seller had advertised it as not running on Ebay but as soon as I got there he went and got a battery and fired it up
Ran ok but back fired out of the right hand side exhaust a bit. I'm starting to think the fuel leak is not overflowing from the carbs but actually just the fuel tap, but that will be checked later.
It's obviously rough but that's why I got it. There's no time line or need to have it running so you'll only see it pop up every now and then
Biggest concern is probably one of the worst things to source, the frame. This one is dodgy. It almost appears to have been broken and/or braced at the rear. Dammit!
Some bonuses, the LCD dash seems to not have any faults at all at this stage.
Here's some pics.

Re: 1982 GPZ 550
Willing to take any advice as to where to locate parts (excluding the obvious ebay). I'm just trying to gather as much info on as possible on where to locate parts.

Re: 1982 GPZ 550
looks like youll have a fun project for a while yet. youll have to go genuine for the swing arm bearings but most of the other stuff I was able to source from a local bearing place and Pyramid parts ( fleabay) for some seals and bearings. The UK has a lot of parts but the postage is a killer. Maybe look at NZ as well.
I only drink to make my friends more interesting.

Re: 1982 GPZ 550
At least you don't have the usual base/head gasket leaks that that generation of Kawasakis suffered from. Looks oil tight. A good scrub might bring that bike up a treat!

2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R
Yeah I like Kawasakis.
