Wattie is right, that was the 1st thing I asked the answer was no, apparently they will stamp a notification on the frame (pillion seat area) that the rectifier has been changed.

so what is it this part does?
reading my letter today it sounds like a problem that is currently on my bike. sometimes not all the time when i downshift, and you give it a little bit of gas in between gears the bike stalls
sort of sounds like what they were describing

Got mine done today, they used a blue permanent marker to put a dot on the subframe under the pillion seat ;) I doubt they will allow you to take just the part in. I would of loved to of done this myself with all the shit I went through today to get mine changed. Lets just say I had to take my bike back 5 minutes after I got it done after sussing their work and finding they didnt even mount my regulator properly so it was just rattling around with the bolt almost falling out.. A 30min max job ended up being around a couple of hours..
On the upside I managed to score a testride of a 2012 zx10 while waiting

Would love to get mine changed as it is not only a dud but it's currently dead so I charge the battery before the track day (lasts me a whole a day). But with it being a RWO and track bike I'm thinking they won't even look at it...

Don't know about the RWO bit but mines a track only bike and I just called my local dealer he asked for the vin and said he would get it organized for me. Mines never seen the road.....

Mines booked in on the other side of town because the place I bought it from doesn't know how to do a warranty claim. The regular service/parts guys is off injured. Wtf. Spoke to Kwaka HO Sydney. They said it takes .4 of an hour so shouldn't be kept waiting too long.

Dodgy motorcycle service. Once you buy the bike they don't wanna know you.....but that's a whole new post in itself

Cool! I'll give that a go then... hopefully they'll fix mine too. I was just about to order a rectifier and that would really come in handy.

Yeah I have slip on with link pipe, juicebox, and k&n filter.
It's only just started to develop a rough idle on start up on cold mornings too.
And to top it off the switch that allows the bike to be started in gear if stalled when you pull the clutch in is faulty too. Have asked for it to be fixed but wasn't done last time the bike was in at the shop :x
