Home made ZX6R fender eliminator!
Well I was sick of looking down the barrel of $200 to get one, so i enlisted the help of a mate to cut one out for me and do the bending etc, while I work at a LED lighting solution. This is what we ended up with!

Nice mate, do you have a drawing with the dimensions? I'm not keen on $240.00 plus for one from over here. What size and type were the LEDs?
it looks great on!!!

re: Home made ZX6R fender eliminator!
Cheers for the comments guys,
I only did the wiring, my mate cut and bent the bracket. The LEDs are the 8000 ccd ones and come with a warning to not look directly into the light!
The eliminator is made from Aluminium, as we decided to that it is lighter and looks just as good as stainless (not that there is much to see!)
I had to find something to hold the LED's so I managed to find a set of LED highlight lights (the most expensive part of the eliminator) and pulled the red LEDs that came in it and fitted the White ones. Overall it was a fairly time consuming activity, but worth it in the end. I think it looks just as good as the Resart ones yet a fraction of the price!
I also ordered my red plastic plate today! hmmm it should look even better then!

Hey there again,
My mate and i are being urged by a few ppl into knocking a few of these up for sale. We are just canvassing for interest at the moment. If you are interested at all, just send me a PM
Cheers

re: Home made ZX6R fender eliminator!
I am not sure of the resistance of the resistor, I just told the dude @ DSE what i wanted it for and he worked it out. I used 8000 ccd Super Bright LEDs, which leave a 'glowing' effect on the ground directly behind the bike. I Might take some more pics of it tomorrow, some close up ones. Everything is heat shrinked in, and sealed with silicone to ensure no water gets in.
The guys at the shop i bought my bike from, are super impressed and have also suggested that we make some for sale.
edit: i just grabbed one of the left over resistors and they are 330 Ohms.

Hey Swabio, your mates name wouldn't be Neil, would it? A mate of mine who lives in Canberra recently made a rear end like yours for one of his mates with a ZX6......too much of a coincidence I would think. He does great work- just got to look at his Buell.....
