Saw and spoke to a guy on the side of the rd half way to lake mountain, about 4yrs ago . Asked him where his bike was and he points 10 meters away to a fork in a gun tree. His fireblade was stuck 20 ft up in the tree

I can't remember Glen being there for that one. There was a small group of us headed up for a lap of the top end and he couldn't keep up so just turned around, but instead of pulling in at Ginger's Creek, decided to keep going for a lap down the other way by himself without telling anyone. We waited for him at the top end and when he failed to turn up went back to the shop to see if he had headed back. What made it worse was the others that had just came back up from the bottom said they didn't pass him (when they had) so we assumed he must have run off trying to keep up and the search started. It wasn't until it got dark and we had to stop looking before we found him back at the shop. To say we were relieved is an understatement.
If this incident was around 2 years ago it could of been me I remember being at the back of the pack on a ride, and had to pull over because Id realised that I hadnt done my chin strap up on the helmet or something like that... By the time I got myself sorted out I thought fuck they are way in front of me now, Ill never catch them, so I turned around and went on a solo run the other way..
Felt like a real arse when I found out you's had been looking for me for a while
Sorry once again

Just everyone looking out for each other when on a group ride... i allways keep a eye behind me, when in a group, if one doesnt appear in my mirrors after a bit, i allways slow down, wait, if they dont appear i will stop and wait a bit, then go back looking.... maybe just stopped, broken down, or worse.. its just the right thing to do...
