The suspension is way too stiff at speed, much chatter through T3 at WP yesterday. Rearset linkage needs to be shortened to get the action more comfortable. The quick-action throttle I used is a piece of crap on a 4-cyl bike with a big return spring......its good for a MX bike with a single carbie though  - the Dellórtos will need a trick throttle actuator arm and I should be able to build in some good adjustment and also lighten the action immensely. Exhaust system needs to be a better design.

Good news though - the brakes are fabulous ! Love those AP Lockheeds, although they will have a limited lifespan on this bike as there is a set of Brembo calipers sitting on the bench :P

Next round is some time away - July - so most of the mods I want to do - including the build of a dinkum race motor - should be done by then.....

Looking a lot different from when I seen it at EC, good to hear you got a decent run on it.

Watching it out there on it's trophy winning run, it actually looks great....like a proper race bike now ;)

The only thing I'll say is it needs lower bars so you can tuck in more, you looked pretty upright going through 8 and 9 as well as down the straight. That might change the suspension setup a bit too.

thanx Mick :) - yes, its trophy-winning run ! 1 leg was all it took. What a legendary bike

Lower bars - check. What I need to buy is a set of 41mm clipons. ZX6 size. This will help get my fat guts over the tank....I prefer clip-ons anyway - the flat bars were really only used because I *don't* have any 41mm clipons at the moment....

The suspension is way waaaaayy to stiff. Phil could see this from the commentary box ! The bike was pogo-ing pretty badly through T3 - bouncing around everywhere. It was also giving me absolutely SFA feedback through T5 up the top of the hill. Could not feel a thing that the tyres were doing or not doing :? . The rearset linkage angle for the gearchange is all wrong but that is an easy fix.

I will feel a lot happier with a lighter throttle action, softer suspension and clip-ons fitted. By Rd 2 in July there should be some marked improvement in this rig. Well...........thats the plan ......

cheers Capt'n :kuda:

Dub - the white frame is a bit out of the ordinary - but it looks pretty good (at least when its clean ;) )

sorting out gremlins is pretty high on the agenda at the moment......a good race motor is #1.

Looking forward to Rd 2 at EC - I won't be entering this bike at the BSFOS.

Here is another shot of the 7/11 in action form the weekend - thanks to Ray Oxford for the photo :kuda:

it's what they call in the painting game - a 10-foot paint job. It's good from far and far from good

I have to say though, that the Aussie export does a fine job if your prep is up to scratch.
