Good pants and jerseys have a little padding in the right places, wont rub and chaff like jeans and a t-shirt, are cooler, don't absorb as much sweat, and are generally cut in such a way that they stay put when riding in the attack position. A decent last years set, on sale, from Rocky Mountain wont be much more than $100.
Buy gloves with a strap, either velcro or loop type at the wrist. Those without straps are a PITA!
Pressure suits are ok, but restrictive. Something like this: http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/45/ ... ector-2012 with a seperate kidney belt and elbow guards will be cooler and allow for more movement.
Get some padded shorts with a chamois crutch. It'll help stop chaffing and monkey butt.
Everything else has been said.
