muffler replacement

Post by grinder »

I have a 2010 ZX10R which I bought last year trading in my 1994 VFR 750,I only wish I had done it sooner.Bike is great except for the look of the muffler.I am thinking of getting a Yoshimura R-77D slip on or Akrapovic slip on. If I go with Akrapovic is it worth getting optional link pipe and will it make any difference to performance and sound.I will get power commander V fitted at the same time.
Any advice welcome

Hey grinder. I have the same model. I bought the R77 and I'm really happy with it. It was a bit too quiet for me so I later bought the Akro link pipe which fit the yoshi and stock headers perfectly. Sound now is really awesome and deep. Haven't really noticed any performance gain but the bike has a shit load of power any way. I don't have a PCV but it run like stock and didn't really lose anything down low.
