I make the Ex swap cars with me now if she wants me to look after Ozkar, that way I can take them without too much discomfort. But, they will fit in the MR2. I took them to the bush walk this evening in it. Two on the seat, one on the floor. They weren't fucking happy about it, but they put up with it for the walk.

Been an interesting couple of walks yesterday and today. Yesterday, we came across a not long, maybe 4 foot, Tiger snake. That was no fun at all. I thankfully was able to recall all the dogs, but the snake wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere. I hate Tigers, fucking aggressive little bastards they are and the younger ones will envenomate you if they bite. An older one, most often warns you if it's an accidental encounter and will only use it's venom if it is under attack or wants food. If things were the way they were 25 years ago, it would now be hanging over a fence for the crows to eat!!!! Sorry to all you reptilian fanboys, but the only good snake, is a dead snake.
Then today, Ozkar caught a Duckling!!! It was seperated from it's mum and siblings somehow and was actually in a puddle on the side of a dirt road. No river, creek or dam anywhere near??? Not sure how mum got this little one there. But, there he was, swimming in a puddle.
Zsa Zsa, Astro and I all missed it, but Ozkar saw it and started nudging it with his nose each time it came back up from duck diving. At first, I saw the head and thought SNAKE. But once I saw it was a duckling, I didn't panic. Ozkar was so gentle, he nudged it a couple of times and then caught it in his mouth and bought it to me unharmed. Nothing wrong with it apart from being wet.
I put it back in the puddle and walked on in the hope mum would come back for him. But, on the way back, he was still there, so I wrapped him up in a cloth and took him with us. He will make a great peking duck in a few months.... just kidding.... I took him to my local vet, who has a bird person who looks after injured and stray birds. I have taken two or three up their already and they were happy to see a Pacific Black Duckling as they don't get many. He was maybe one or two days old at best, possible three. Just had his full down set!!! I took a phone pic and will post it once I resize it.

Mate that's pretty scary with the snake, great that they stayed away though. I don't know whether Ozzy would have that level of control yet. It's not bad but she's still not great at coming back. The only thing that might save her is that she's a giant wuss and fairly cautious so she might be scared (I hope so anyway).
Ozkar with a duckling in his mouth would be a pretty cute sight. Sounds like your having a ball with the three of them, that's great.

Astro is growing into an absolute monster. Not in personality. In personality he is the sweetest boy I could ever have hoped for. It's his physical size I am referring to. Since 9 months of age he outgrew his older brother Ozkar and now he shadows Ozkar and totally dwarfs little Zsa Zsa. He is a friggin big unit!
He's also growing into yet another bird orientated Vizsla. He caught his first bird all on his own yesterday. I'm not into killing things, but it's pretty hard to tell a dog who is bred for it, not to do it.
He sniffed out a flock of what I think were Quail. Then he located where they were all hanging out underneath some freshly cut long grass, shoved his nose into the grass and came out with a bird in his mouth. He then looked at me as if to ask "Have I done the right thing? This OK? Look, I found a bird!!!" Then he popped it down on the ground and Zsa Zsa, ever the opportunist, swooped it up and swung it around till it didn't need swinging anymore and then bought it to me very proudly.
But, I was very proud of my little boy, who for the first time got his prey. He's been keenly trying to get one down there for months now.

Less time on the bike and more time with Boof will fix that Mal! How is Boof by the way? Apart from the recent disgrace I mean!

Im tipping boof will be between 25-30 kgs full grown anything heavier than that for a staffie and its a bit much.So if he starts to look like a real boof he will get walked more to keep him trim and healthy.Mister was a smaller staffie and was about 22kgs
