I recall people camped on the blocks for days prior to the initial release.
I bet 5 Brock Drive which of course will no doubt be known as 05 Brock Drive was one of the first lots sold.

lol. Marty was (or is, I'm a bit behind the times!) living in or around Williamstown if memory serves me correctly?

Skim milk latte drinking capital of the western suburbs! :kuda:

Don't know how he'd survive on the instant stuff they probably serve out there.

Frank wrote:Can't totally blame the developers, the owner of the land & circuit made the decision to sell it to developers rather than keep it as a track that probably wasn't making any money, not saying that its right, just an observation. Btw when the land was originally sold the old owner had made promises to build another track in another area with some of the absurd amount of money he got for the land. His tune changed pretty quick once the money was in his pocket!
And you know this as fact?

The owner of the land was able to make more money selling the land than keeping it as a racetrack. The track required a major upgrade to hold national events, car or bike. Motorcycle events (apart from club events) had be stopped due to it not meeting international standards and being deemed unsafe.

He was willing to build another track but required state government backing which was not forthcoming.

The guy was a businessman not a charity, would anyone here do different?

Would love to see another Oran built though, it was an awesome track to punt around on
