Fortunatley it doesn't happen as often as it could. I often see newbies struggling to stay on their side of the road, especially on the twisty stuff of th OPH :? :x

I just hope every one is OK

I must admit i am no fan of corners ever since i had a car go under the front of my truck near Bathurst about 20yrs ago,he survived but to this day wether i'm driving a car ,truck or riding a bike i tend to take things a little steadier than normal but thats just me being over cautious i guess ;)

In 2000 I had a head on with another bike which broke 14 different bones and required 16 screws and 3 stainless plates to put me back together. I know full well how easy it is to hit another bike. More so than another car. My thoughts are with the people who are injured. :(

2 riders involved in the head-on. The 31 year old woman was airlifted with wrists, pelvis and ankle fractures. The 23 year old man had concussion and multiple fractures. Road was closed for several hours. I'm just glad there were no fatalities, as the crash pic looked like it was quite likely!
I'm pretty sure it wasn't anyone from here.

Looks like it was on one of the tighter left handers (heading north) that go through the rock cuttings up there. Don't want to speculate too much without info, but overcooking it, inexperience, inattention, target fixation, etc - so many possible causes

A friend of my son just picked up a yellow CBRR on Friday off EBay. He stayed at my place on Sat night and I checked our his new ride. Haven't been able to get hold of him today, but pretty sure it's not him as his has black mid fairings. They look like white midfairin decals on the tank. Speedy recovery to those involved.

It's an unfortunate side effect of riding a motorcycle. Unlike a car, we don't have an elevated fear when we have to tighten our line, we just turn the steering wheel. With a bike, fear intervenes sometimes and tells us we can't lean any further, as the tyres will let go. Facts are most bikes with good tyres will run out of ground clearance well before they run out of grip. Then, when fear does that, we then can often fixate on whatever the danger is and just like moths to a light, we hit it!

I have had two head ons on bikes. Both on dirt bikes, one on single track and the other on a dead straight wide as fuck dirt road. This is the one where the other rider fixated on me as the target and sure enough he hit me. I speared off the road into the bush to avoid him, but he just kept following. I changed direction several times, but each time, he just altered his line straight back at me.

While I don't know who these two are, we have just came home from the vet who informs us that one of the receptionist lady by the name of Emma ( sorry don't know her surname) has had a head on with a car on OPH yesterday and she is not in a good way.
Apparently she collided with a car which did drift wide and as a consequence she suffered two broken wrists a couple of ribs and her pelvis is broken in seven (7) places. She'll undergo surgery tomorrow in one of Sydneys hospitals.
We have meet her on a couple of occassions and have mentioned to her the good guys (both of them :kuda: ) of KSRC, so not sure if she has become a member or not.
Wishing her a full and quick recovery.
