Where I live and the roads I travel.

Post by SNAFU »

Hi everyone!
Just thought I'd post up some photo's of where I live and some of the roads I travel. We very lucky here in Tassie we have very few speed camera's and coppers who will listen to a good story and most times let u=you off with a warning. Tassie is really motorcycle heaven and we are lucky enough to have some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. hope you enjoy the photo's.

Welcome, I lived in Tassie (Hobart and Smithton) for 2 years and loved it. Pity I didn't have a bike at the time, the roads around Smithton looked tops as did the ones down around Port Arthur.

I worked at Savage River for 18 months and could have done with a dirtbike and a road bike at the time, also a fourby would have been handy for trout fishing/ beach runs :)

Guy's in fact on the 28-30th Dec we re off on a short wee three day ride around Tassie. Fist up we head across to Queenstown. Next day we are going to Sheffield via Zeehan, Pieman Road, across the front of Cradle Mt, And Mole Creek. The last day see us heading back through Mole Creek, Deloraine, Longford to Elephants Pass Pancakes for lunch then flat out back down the East Coast road through Orford, Richmond and home. Al up a quiet 900 k's or so on some of the best bike roads in the country, yahoo lucky us!

Ahhh, I love Tassie. You mention one of my favourite places, Mole Creek. Thats where the man walking the chicken on a lead was seen - I shit you not....a chicken being walked on a lead.........

We worked in Tassie for a few years and I have been lucky enough to go back a least once a year for the last 4 or 5 years, great place, great people, great scenery and brilliant roads. Last time I was there (November this year) we did the road from Longford to Hadspen (Pateena Rd I think its called) I love that little road, pity we were in the hire car and not on a bike

I can also vouch for the food in Burnie Hospital, then again that was 8 years ago so maybe not ;)
