Do you know of any other tipping sites for next year.?

The comp i go in works like this
We pay $25 for the year.
25 points 1st.
20 points for 2nd
16 points for3rd
if u pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd in order (clean sweep) u get a extra 50 points
U pick the world camp and points he finishes on.
Say u get 100 people, $25 each... $2500
Say for 1st..$1200... 2nd...$800....3rd.....$300
And if u pick world champ, whoever is the closest on points....$200
And if u win on points and pick champ....$1400
All picks in by start of 125 race (now moto 3)
Thats the rough idea... but it is a bit of work for who does it, but it seems to work and is a bit of fun.
All we do is sms picks to whoever is running it.
More people.... more prize money.

Opps didnt think it went thru

Tipping comp im in runs like this
We pay $25 each.
So if u get 100 people....$2500 prize money.
For 1st place say..$1200
2nd...$800
3rd...$300
for picking world champ on points, or who is closest..$200
so if u win on points and pick champ...u win $1400
We pick who's going to win,and how many points he finishes on.
points work like this.
Per round.
1st..25
2nd..20
3rd..16.
and if u pick all 3 in order of finish...50 bonus points
Picks must be before start of 125 race ( now moto 3)
We txt picks thru.
If u miss getting them in, then ur picks go on round before.

More people.... more prize money.
That a rough idea of how this comp runs.
Its run by a mate (dave) in brissy
He has been doing this for around 9/10 years now.

Maybe someone could do this, but it is a bit of work,
Cheers

My concept is "my tipping site".

Basically I had to look at all the gambling laws, turns out as long as all prize money is returned to players you are ok so the only way I can monetize it is to charge a "comp setup fee". I can't skim a percentage unfortunately.

I wouldn't be responsible for running any comp. I basically provide a vessel for KSRC to host their own tipping comp, with whatever rules they want. Results, where possible, are automatically put in via RSS feed... setup fee waived obviously - and in return I get a good wide beta-testing audience.

There is also a concept known as "Pots"... where you put money in the kitty for something such as "Rider with most crashes" - but it could be anything at all that you can think of that you can bother to count or there is a stat for. It's just a totalizer - but again - as long as all money is returned to players it's kocher as far as the govt is concerned.

This is something I've been doing for many years in various formats from World Cup soccer to cricket to F1. Haven't done MotoGP yet... It's always been a one-off but I've been keenly interested in just making it sort of a "setup your own comp" site, with skinning etc. I saw something out there already that is sort of, but not really the same, and it only works for AFL or something. Of course it bears very little in resemblance with OzTips and the like, and the whole reason I ever even built something like it is due to many people's frustrations with those sorts of sites.

Hard to explain without showing you but it's been working well over many years with many hundreds of participants quite successfully with lots of positive feedback so I'm confident that it's something at least worth pouring a bit of my time into. Not sure if it'll ever make me a bucketload of money but at least it's kudos right?

Anyway this is something I'm going to press on with anyway, and if there's no interest from KSRC I'll have plenty of other willing participants... but just thought I'd put it out there. If anything it'll mean you guys are in a position to provide feedback that actually results in real changes.

As for the running of the comp, still need a champion (or several admins), and instead of an excel spreadsheet you use a nice easy to use site, perhaps a mobile app too , and sms tipping etc (provided site traffic justifies the need)

Edit: and of course it's possible that this will never get done.. It's pretty much at the top of the pile for side projects, but it's not billable work and looks like my missus just lost her job which means I may need to just knuckle down and do extra billable work until she finds a replacement. Anyway it's something I'll know more about as far as capacity in the next month.

MCN have one
http://mcn.fantasyleague.com/
and there are private leagues within it. Only problem for us is they include WSBK and BSBK
That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba.... Hunter S. Thompson.
