You must be as old as me
Dink is a word from long ago :D
A pushie with a rack would certainly be the safest way, other wise just short little jaunts up the street and back.
If your pillion is good enough, you won't even know they are there, just be VERY CAREFUL with the U turns if the pillion is as inexperienced as yourself ;)

Oh... FFS what is wrong with people these days??? Do people have no common sense????

Ok, since you asked, here's how I learnt.A mate wanted a lift, so I said jump on. He asked have you doubled someone before? I lied and said yeah.......... lots. Just put them on the back seat and ride. Fuck. what a world this has become

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

So harsh you lot..

How to learn.. yeah true go out and do it, but there's nothing worse than having someone on the back who fights the lean.
As a pillion I had a signal to the rider if something wasn’t right, usually a couple of taps on the leg (but pinching, death grips and an occasional punch to the kidneys have also been effective )

I very rarely take pillions these days. I had a pillion go to sleep on the back and almost bring us both down. From that day I swore I would never take anyone again unless it was an emergency.

With pillions comes responsibility for someone else. Ride to your ability, conditions and be extra vigilant.
Oh.. and make sure they wear the appropriate gear ;)
It all comes down to how you ride it.....
