he said you are a slave to high octain fuel with timing in them but i allways use it anyway.its good he said the 12s respond to timing as he also said on a lot of other bikes it's a 100% waist of time .Im still waiting to get my key for the rev extend they can take there time

so in the end - is it worth putting one of these on a 12 or not ?

In the US, their hi-octane stuff is only 95. We are lucky to get 98, which is all I ever use in the 12 anyway, so being a *slave* to hi-octane fuel is just not an issue really.

I'm going to take the 12 into the shop in 2 weeks time. I'll probably take the +4 rotor with me, do the swap, have a good listen, see if we can hear it ping.

Lots of people have done this mod but if Brocks reckons it causes engine failure I'm inclined to believe him. Still think it's fuelling related. (I too only use 98, and if I could find somewhere that had 100, I'd use that.)

well I probably won't worry about one of these advancers then - the MFP12 already has a very well-mapped PCIII and some other mods, so it's not short of a pony or 3.....

thanks for all the tips :kuda:

I'm currently working (saturday), and have been all day... I reckon I've earned me an ignition mod out of all that. Heck JC motors here we come.

Well I did the timing anyway. Mechanic reckons there's no way it'll ping on just +4.

And holy moses.... completely changes the bike. Flat spot? Completely gone, just the barest hint it was ever there. Idle? Sounds like a caged beast now at idle. Throttle response? It's like it reads your mind before you even twist it.

Happy camper.

I've also got an ignition mod on the way. Guess I'll set it to 0 for now and unlock the extended revs.
