Thoughts on this?

Post by vivek67 »

Hi,

I have ridden the tyre for about 4000 kms now. The previous owner rode it for a few thousand kms as well. My experience with this is limited and me thinks the tyre will need to be replaced soon.

Given I ride on weekends only and ride predominantly on the road, how many kms is safe to get out of this tyre? You can look at the tyre and tell how it has been ridden. i am not the fastest of guys out here  in fact, really slow actually

Tyre is fine,

Change when the indicators suggest you should.

Only time you may consider any earlier change would be if you have squared it off, flat spotted it or put a punctire in it.

I have a thought on tyres ,If you are not comfortable with any aspect of a tyre weather it be tread depth or grip levels then replace it.
Yes it may be in your head and possibly fine but in the end and in crutial situations its your head that makes the choice, lean the farker more.oh hang on what about my tyres, next minute you are standing the bike up or braking before you know it. ;)

Pretty good advice. Confidence plays a big part in how well you ride, if your comfortable with your rubber you will be more comfortable on the bike.
