Most under rated bike of the time when they were new.
The "comparo's" were all about bigger, faster, better. But nothing mentioned about the timelessness and the strength of such a great bike that WILL become a collectable classic in time to come when all the others have faded into obscurity.
I was in PS Elizabeth st 2004 and they had one of the last 7's available as new and were running it out at $11 999. Even at the time I thought "If I was a rich kahrnt I'd get them to put it back in the box and hang onto it for 20 years" .
I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.
I was faster around the creek on a 97 model than I was and 03 gixxer 1000. It was heavy but it was predictable, and once you knew it well I found it a fun bike to ride fast. Just a shame that only Suzuki do a 750

Couldn't kill mine either. Common theme of this thread is they are a great bike which they are ! Had mine for about 9 years but earlier this year moved on to the gen 3 zx10r & loving that just as much.
Great bike....Great front end
Sold mine to a guy at work when I stopped racing it..
Had I known what he sold it for I would've bought it back in a heart beat....
The Older I Get The FASTER I Was
You start with a bag of luck and an empty bag of experience.
The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck...

It is far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even if chequered with failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, as they live in grey twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.
I took my new 7 around Phillip Island back in 1998. It felt so smooth and predictable. Power was great, handling was even better and I still to this day, regret selling it!
