Looking for New 2nd Hand Ride

Post by wazza1234 »

I am looking for a new 2nd hand ride on a limited budget. I live in Toowoomba but am planning a shopping trip to Brisbane to have a look next week. My budget is limited to around $4k and I have had a look on the net and plan on looking at a couple of bikes from All Bikes at Slacks Creek (ZZR-600 amongst non-kawasaki breeds).

Looking on the net I have found one particular forum which said approach this particular shop with caution. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with All Bikes and what their thoughts are of them.

I am planning on having a look at other bike shops in the area while I am there.

No personal experience with that shop myself but have heard stories as well. Proceed with caution no matter where you look & there are plenty of shops in that area to check out. Anyway you can stretch the budget to 5K ? You start getting into the territory of 04/05 z750's etc. Good luck with your search. :)

+ You must also remember by going through a dealer you are often paying 2 grand or more for a bike, but you will get warranty which in some cases aint worth a pinch of shit. But If you know your stuff you may pick up a better bike buying privately ,but need to be carful

I took a guy for his licence yesterday on a ZZR250 bought there. He has it six months which may not be fair to the dealer, but it had a blown taillight, buggered steering head bearings, leaking fork seal and scary stuffed front wheelbearings. Looked ace but was dangerous.
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Do dealers in QLD need to supply a Vcheck or only a REVS and RWC? Would it be worth doing a Vcheck on any bike, even if from a dealer?

Unfortunately I cannot stretch the budget to $5k but might be able to get it out to $4.5 if the bike is right. You are right in saying that the extra $1k opens up a lot more possibilities.

I will have my 2001 zx9r up for sale very shortly, it will be within your budget.
