As I build my new toy hauler, I found that I sometimes needed to attach something to a section of RHS. This meant either pop riveting or welding and then I found this on the net...no Disco, not Ebay and decided to get one.

Had a look around local and over $200 for the cheapest I could find so went online and found one in the states for $83.
Bonus as this is cast where the local was pressed metal like a cheap pop riveter and comes with various sized poly nuts up to 8mm.

Yep they are great as long as the little fukers dont spin on you.

We call em Rib Nuts & have them on some of our frames, as jonno said once they come loose they are a PIA

Yeah I had to cut out the ones that held the front of the tank on my ZX7R when they came loose and I couldn't tighten up the bolts that hold the tank on. Luckily someone I know had one that I was able to borrow!

When they come loose you just tighten them up again bolt spacer and pliers does the trick

Screw the nut onto the mandrel on the tool, insert into appropriate sized hole and just like a pop-rivet it compresses each side to hold in place flush with the surface, unscrew the tool and your done, basically an installed nut that you dont need to put a spanner on.

Yeah Sulli I hear you but as shown below in our instance it is near impossible to get to them if they become loose when we go to undo the bolt which is under a fair amount of pressure.
I have had to cut off bolt heads when they go really loose I guess they come loose because its a steel insert going into an aluminium frame.

Yea I see your situation the remedy would be to use the same material inserts and tig or spot weld the inserts where your arrow points easy peasy

Yea not much choice as they are supplied like that might have to start changing them over in house
