If it's for a 600cc track bike I'd just get one of these:

Saves a few kgs (4-cel battery weighs around 400grams!) and they hardly drop any charge over time when compared to a regular battery. Had one on my previous bike and it never missed a beat in over a year... not that expensive either!

There's also the advantage of freeing some really good space under the seat which is always a massive plus if you run a PCIII/PCV and etc.

Back in the bad old days, we would remove battery, drain and let sit upside down for a few days, then rinse several times with a epsom salts water mix (1 tsp to 1 lt), rinse well with clean water, drain well and refill with new acid, slow charge for 24 hrs, used to get a few more years out of them, not sure how it would go with the current batteries but maybe worth a try?

Tried jumping it of the KTM as I wasnt sure if I should do it off the car :? .....Didn't work and the clicking is coming from a small box behing the battery.....Next step is to pull the battery out of the Zeddy and try that :x ....And as soon as I get it going contact Red_Dave for a maintenance charger which I should have done when I got the bike

Battery Question.....

Post by fireyrob »

When I first got that 6 from you I had the same issue. Thought it was the battery but it wasnt when I threw a new one in. I clutch started it down a hill and she ran since without issue. Not sure what actually was wrong but robracer at the time said it possibly could be compression lock? Clutch start her somewhere unless someone could come up with a reason not too?
