Re: Meguro on fle
W1 650 Kawasaki - based (sort-of) on a BSA A10. Parallel twin pushrod motor.
Not sure how that ebay ad can be selling a 1965 W1...........they only started production of these in 1967 !!
Meguro was a bike producer in Japan, that was going down the gurgler until KHI (then known as the Kawasaki Aircraft Company) bought them out. Meguro had been producing a replica BSA A7 - a 500cc pushrod twin.
What they did produce in 1965 was a K2 model 500cc model. Not a 650 (actually 625cc) W1.
I am watching this auction with more than a little interest......I reckon the bidding will be lucky to top $6k, and the reserve is probably set at $10k or perhaps even higher ! It simply won't sell for this price imho, as these bikes - although rare - are just not regarded as a *classic* Kawasaki......not yet anyway ( and probably not ever).
It would be nice to have one of these in the 4th though......a nice bike for a Sunday cruise.....

Good on ya Gos,so i wonder what it really is 67 or a K2,I think i remember seeing something like this at that Kawasaki good times world museum site, wouldn't mind going there one day for a look, kinda like disney land for KHI fans i reckon.

Not at all mate - I have no coin for something like that. When I buy another kawasaki, it will probably be a Z1R. This is one model I have always wanted in the 4th.

Re: Meguro on fle
Interesting that the W1 went for $5100 - not so bad a price for an old an unusual piece of kwakka history.....

Re: Meguro on fle
coming out of winter - it will improve.
Selling a bike is just not a good idea between May and August basically......
