Friggin QLD traffic police

Post by redzedx7r »

:x
Got pulled over up on Mt. Glorious this morning because the bike cop didn't like the way my bike was cranked over in a corner in a 70kph zone when I was doing 70kph.
He stated because of my age demographic (40-45yrs) I am more likely to be in an accident hence I would get a $100 fine and not a caution for having a shortened rear hugger. The bike is stock apart from the hugger, I haven't had a speeding ticket in 15 years, I have never popped a wheelie (incapable) and my last ticket was in 2003 for not using an indicator whilst filtering at 20kph (that bike cop said I was upsetting the car drivers who were stopped in heavy traffic).
Plain old fucking police harassment! how does my riding within the legal limits and having a shortened hugger correlate with me having an accident?
I will be taking the matter up with QPS West Brisbane, the officer in question is notorious for harassing sportsbikes.
What with the fucked roads up here, excessive rego costs and cops pulling you over for no reason (I have also been tailed and pulled over for license checks and breathalysers mid afternoon mid week) its getting harder to justify getting on the road for a scratch.
I know they have a shit job, I was only up on Glorious on Saturday for a family picnic and saw many blokes on bikes acting like dickheads but fair go I am entitled to ride within legal limits without getting pulled over.

Yes, because like Libya and Egypt, our government tortures prisoners, murders critics of the dictatorial leader and imprison, massacre and rape protestors. Our society is in such poor shape that we condone female genital mutilation for societal and religious beliefs, and our media is gagged and limited to publishing only what the government want you to hear.

Get real.

Sean thats sucks, many have had the rear fender experience at Mt Glorious/Nebo, are they still using the wooden square or is it another method?

Is he still there

I stopped riding there on weekends mostly for the Qride Rossi wannabes and this guy harrasing bikes of the mountain, I would ride through there carefully if I did it at all during the week but preferred not too.

He has a reason to be there thanks to the f'wit riders but his over zealousness is way over the top.

Clearly doing 70 in a 70 zone is lethal. Should have wiped off five and been run into from behind... that way representatives of the constabulary wouldn't feel the need to leap to the defence of ridiculous policies.

Incidentally, how does wiping off five work in my parents' retirement village? The speed limit is 5k - I'll never get to their driveway!

A few things - if you have a clean record I would expect a well written letter should see you without dipping into to the wallet.

You have an illegal modification to your bike and complain that you got fined for said modification, seems rhetorical to me. I don't mean to be facetious but illegal is illegal, I may agree with you that it is only a definition by a pen pusher but it is the same as doing 10km/h over and complaining.

I concur with the rest of your resentment but take two sides of the coin, perhaps this copper has seen a few too many laying in the gutter, the flip side to that coin is the copper should not have simply put you into the same basket as everyone else as it is another form a racist/ being a bigot. However human nature means we are all guilty of that.

Lastly if you don't like your rego cost I can offer a compromise, you pay my rego cost and I will pay yours. I am in NSW

Nick

BTW nothing wrong with female genital mutilation, it is called circumcision. Been doing it to males for centuries (thank David for that), what is good for the goose is good for the gander (sarcasm)

No I am not arguing about the fact that the hugger/fender wasn't kosher rather the fact that Snr. Constable Wilkins did a U-turn to come after me without any provocation other than I was riding my motorbike beyond a 5 degree lean angle.

I enjoy riding up there without going over the limit and this clown ruined a good day purely for revenue raising, some one please show me stats on hugger or fender related road deaths.

Btw my Qld rego was $124 per year when I first got the ZX7R in 2004 now its $420

Yer the Egypt-Libya thing is a bit of stretch.

Unfortunately, he is quite within his authority to do a u-turn and stop you without provocation.

So is following someone, some may call it stalking (but I was only following your honour). Really just a matter of which side of the fence you sit on.

I have been followed, I have been booked, I have been let off even when I have admitted that I was speeding. One thing that my dad taught me was respect and to treat those how you would want to be treated, always get off your bike/ out of your car to greet the police they are only doing their job don't make it harder. There will always be arseholes in life, sometimes that arsehole is you who is having a shitty day and takes it out on the next person they meet.
