Kawasaki recall

Post by mick_dundee »

Kawasaki is recalling 280 of its ZX1000R Ninja sports bikes after it was found the wiring harness could wear through against the rear frame, causing a loss of ignition. (That's all the details I have) it's a bit vague I think..
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Part of my letter reads:
Recall# DAD601A
It affects ZX1000KBF, it doesn't state a vin# range but mine ends in 105 and was the first delivered in SA and was in the first 130 into Australia (so I believe) for the belated Jan 2011 release. Now I dont know if this recall is uniquely an Australian model issue or is part of the earlier worldwide recall, haven't exactly been rushing around researching it.

I am "obliged" to return the effected vehicle to my original selling dealer if possible... blah blah.. 8)

Anyway, I have re-routed some of the wiring to the PCV so it may not be effected, will take it in anyway for the FI light errors..
