Zx6r - Temps
I'm riding an 08 ZX6r and sometimes on my commute I get to about 101c and the fan kicks in not often but if I can't split and get stuck in a bit of traffic it happens and this is in the winter. I'm wondering if it's going to be a probelm during summer when it can be 25+ in the mornings?
Apparently when it hits 115c you should pull over before it overheats any one ever got to this temp from commuting?

Nope, mine normally runs at between 70 and 85, but they are Tasmanian temperatures. I don't think 100c is uncommon though....

Re: Zx6r - Temps
the 6's radiator is smaller and generally ran hotter then the 10, bout 5-10 degrees difference. It would only go 110+ on fairly hot days in traffic for reasonable duration
Re: Zx6r - Temps
Mate's 2010 usually runs between 80 and 85, highest I've seen so far was 102 stuck in traffic on a 35 degree afternoon, fan kicked in and she stayed there, never climbed any higher till I was moving again then she dropped very quickly back to normal. So I don't think you've got anything to worry about!

@loubre is your bike in your avatar the ZR750? That's one of the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden, I got one as a loaner when I put my bike in for a service and I rekon I could ride it for days on end and never feel sore

Re: Zx6r - Temps
Hi Beza, it's a ZR7 and yes it is bloody comfortable, have bad arthritis in my lower back and ten minutes on that flaming ZX6R kills me but the 7 I can ride comfortably for a couple of hours with no problems, only issue I've had was getting the front forks a bit stiffer, far too soft standard but a 15mm pvc spacer at the top of the springs to give them some preload and heavier oil fixed that, now rides and handles like a dream!

Re: Zx6r - Temps
Doesn't take too much traffic before mine hits 100. Always kicks in at 100 - climbs to 101 then down to 98 or so. Totally normal and happens more in summer but nothing to fear.
