Help with healtech X-TRE

Looking for anyone in syd who has installed the healtech x-tre on there zx-6r or zx-10r willing to assist with an install of the x-tre on my 6.

Happy to travel and compensate you with a slab of beer or bottle of spirit (if your not a beer drinker) for your time.

Easy to do any happy to help, had one on my Gumby, not sure when I could it though as I am traveling Alot between nelsons bay and Jervis bay ATM.

If it helps, i'm off every wed's apart from the 7th of sept and have one day off on the weekend, work is flexible so I can swap a sat for sun or vice versa.

I installed one on my old 10. Isnt too hard from memory. It only works below a certain rpm doesnt it? I dont drop below 6K very often so didnt bother but if you want help installing it Im in the Inner West. Send us a PM when your available

My understanding of it is, it tricks the ECU to think that the first three gears are in 4th gear or above. Reason being is that kwaka from factory removed timming below 8k rpm. Its other functions is to smooth throttle responce and to remove speed limiter (zx-10r) on bigger bikes.

The x-tre turns off whilst the bike is in neutral to maintain idle and there are 3 settings in relation to throttle responce.

guys are right, it does all the above. Dont kno about the 6 but i fitted one a couple of years ago to my 07 10, it does make them very responsive tho. I often think about taking mine out.At places like broady and winton where u are getting back on the power from a closed or part throtle, it can be a bit of a pain. Depends on what u want from it?

Looks like were installing it in a couple of weeks. if it works he buys the beer, if it doesnt then Ill buy the beer and call Wattie

I got one coming for my 09 10r in the next couple of weeks.. Can they be switched off without it being removed? I know they have a few different settings..

From the instructions

Programming TRE mode

- Put your gearbox in 4th, 5th or 6th gear, depending on which mapping you’d
like to set as per the table below:

4 Neutral

5 Softer setting for

6 Normal setting for
ZX-6R / ZX-10R

Well, smog block off plates for the trackie, *cough* + X-TRE went on today with a-lot help from Rob, it was pleasure meeting him, his wife and his two bubs. Hope she wasnt too mad for taking up daddy time.

Smog off plates seemed straight forward it makes a noticeable difference to throttle response, less engine break (not sure if I am explaining that correctly) but what impressed me the most no more back fire on decel!

X-TRE, unfortunately it wasn't as straight forward, the yellow butt gel connectors (for splicing/crimping) that were provided were shite; we were baffled for a while as to why the device was not working; non contact between the wires was the culprit.

Once that was out of the way; it was pretty much smooth sailing, the device was already programmed for the right setting. What does it ride like now? As I am still running in the bike, so I can only give partial feedback at this time; there is better pick up down low, once the bike is run in; I'll can give a comparison against Rob's bike.
