You'd still be able to login with my software - both as an admin and as a participant. Just need some MS hosting. Currently setting up the Rugby world cup site for work I'll post some SS etc once I'm done.

It's all Ajax web 2.0 you can basically tip the entire comp in one go if you like, and it knows about timezones

I'd be happy either way. Like some others I haven't had any issues with logging on, losing tips etc...............................yet. The biggest issue I have with Yafuckinhoo is the cutoff before practice thing, and taking ages for them to score a round. This round seems to have gone fairly well though, I checked at lunch time today and it had been scored, so maybe they've sorted their shit on that side of things.

Oh, and you can't swear at them, it edits swear words

I definitely think we should consider Paddo's software for next season... Sounds great and keeps it all in-house so to speak.

I don't think we should change to it this season though.

I haven't had any issues with the new Yahoo OzTips but know many people have. There's a couple of things that seem to happen regularly that we can do minimise the errors.

1. Make sure you are putting your tips in the correct week. (OzTips defaults to the next round for some reason - same in NRL comps)
2. Put your tips in 2 days before cut-off (you can always edit them later if they haven't closed) - again check you're in the correct round.
3. PM Me your tips at the same time so i have them on record - don't be shy, i don't mind.
4. Prepare your lady for the fact that she'll get to meet "oh Dave" at the Xmas party, if she hasn't already... He'll be the extremely drunk one courtesy of those who chose the Beer option... 8)
5. Finally, this is all for shits and giggles but we need to remember that the sponsors are putting in great prizes and without their support, this comp would fall over pretty quick.

Yeah I just want to clarify and I think everyone will agree that yahoo problems are not Dave's fault. He has done a sterling job putting up with all the whinging from members like me...

I have tried to access my account by the alternative email address and that doesn't work either. :x

Dave, what is the best to do in this situation:
Create a new user profile and can you link this to our existing scores?
Can you provide the account details of our login?
Something else?

I don't have any access to your login details so can't provide those.

It would save me heaps of time if your didn't sign up with a new username/password as i have to manually link them.

I'd recommend simply PMing me your tips and i'll plug them in.

After each round is scored i have to marry up the OzTips username with the KSRC username and make up the points ladder...

I would prefer to ditch the Yahoo tips, but it's time consuming as an administrator to manually update everyone's tips, along with the potential for error.

I also would congratulate Dave on his commitment to making sure this comp works for KSRC. :kuda: :kuda:

I voted to persevere for now.

Beyond the early cut off it's working for some. Which means there's only a subset red_dave has to do manually via PM.
Ditching it would be too much effort.

Definitely need alternatives for next year.

I'm with ty - changing this year would be a bit of a nightmare and JPaddo's solution sounds awesome except for the bit where he said MS hosting :? Is it all written in ASP? Wanna convert it to PHP :D

Haha yeah MS (ASP.NET). Godaddy is like 5 bucks a month though ;)

I'm actually planning on releasing it to the public, about 6 months ago it was supposed to happen... domains have been purchased for a while now. Fingers crossed my calendar opens up and I'll be able to make it happen. In that case I'll take care of the hosting myself, proper fast hosting, not cheapo.
