Just to throw a spanner in the works, if you take the z to the track expect to be able to scrape the exhausts. The oversized exhauts have a protective bit of plastic for big lean angles. First time I saw a bloke at OP doing I thought holy crap, and he wasn't that fast, I was faster than him in the corners.

Another option would be to combine the zx10 or 6r with the wide handle bars. If you do a search for "comfort bars" there are a couple of options. It gives you the upright riding position on a pure sports bike. I have it on my GSXR750 and I am seeing it more and more on sports bikes. It looks a little ugly but I don't ride to look good

Every bike I have owned bar the first (an XR400) has done some track time. Nothing wrong with them as a bike to take to the track, just take the peg scrapers off and change the exhaust and then you will be right

They are a good looking bike, I especially like the 2011 model
