i just got into a plumbing apprenticeship with PEER. 3 day induction, then at trade school for a week.
PEER runs a pretty good gig, you should look into them if you havent already.

Chris has finished his apprenticeship now, albeit in Sydney. If there's anything we can help with ask away. When you finish your apprenticeship, here in NSW you have another two years of TAFE, two nights per week to get your license (to print money). Best advice I could give is to do your license, it'll be worth it.

It's a good trade to learn as you learn a heap more then just plumbing (and when someone has shit over the floor of their bathroom they don't care what they pay to get it fixed)

Good luck with it, and do all the tickets you can while you're at it ie confined spaces, working at heights etc. They get you a stack more work....oh and keep your Hepatitis shots up to date

What's PEER. Is it like an apprenticeship scheme where you do your trade and you get hired by Plumbers when they need an apprentice on either a short or long term arrangement.

If so they're not a bad scheme to start off with but just be careful. Chris started with the master Plumbers here in a similar scheme and got a good bloke to work for initially. One of his mates got landed with a bloke who used apprentices instead of labourers to dig holes and that's all he did for a year.

Just make sure that you're learning the trade and not just labouring.
