The current fx control Tyres are 200s. They are pretty much just taller in construction for better contact patch at lean.MAXUMIS wrote:is the 200/55 beter on high or low speed tracks im new to this??i guese it depends on what track is thrown into the sitch.im gueseing high my self+ hard lean?Maccarocks wrote:Yes still running the 190/55 rear tyre... but I also have a 200/55 that I will be using at some stage this year..
And I am looking into some radiator protectors as well... although I did see an excellent home made one that looked very neat on another build up site the other day.. made of wire mesh and cable tied to the radiator.. neat and effective..!!

Exactly what Wattie says..
The 200/55 is just a bit taller... exactly 5.45mm taller to be exact...!!
Which wont hurt for this model.. I have actually read about a few guys fitting the 8 - 10mm spacer to lift the rear a bit for better tipping in, but I will see how it feels first, and of course as soon as I get the Ohlins, is is height adjustable as well, so I can do this in small increments then...
I only have one of these 200 tyres anyway, so the bike will mainly be set up for the 190 tyre.
I have a few Ntec slicks I will be using for the rest of the year as well... so my current stock should get me though a few months anyway.

OK, got the Ohlins TTX on the way as well as a COX radiator guard.. should be here by the end of next week..

)
I should be able to get everything fitted before the next ride day at Broadford on the 29th, get the sags done and then just ride..!!
More pics will be posted as soon as the new parts arrive..

Re: The 2011 ZX10R Track Build Up FINISHED ?? Well Almost :-
Yes.... Almost totally done now..!!
I was able to get the Ohlins TTX fitted. Very easy to do, in fact it took way less time that I had allowed for it, so I was very happy with the result.
I have set the shock to Ohlins recommended specifications, right down to the shock length. I have done a basic sag set, but will double check this exactly later on but it seems pretty close... After installation the rear is now sitting 10mm higher than stock. So I will start there and see how it feels. Radiator guard now to arrive and the bike is done.
