Who goes to the snow?
After reading about a few people having trips to the snow lately I was wondering how many KSRC members (the sportsbike riders club, not the snow revellers club) ski or snowboard.

Sure do usually head down once or twice a year to go snowboarding . Family has a chalet at lake cracken back. Saving up to go to japan next year as I hear it's proper powder over there

Re: Who goes to the snow?
None of the above
I have only seen snow once in my life and I was 40 odd then. The misses won a trip on the radio and we went to Thredbo. Being a State roller skater in my younger days
I took to it, like a duck to water. farken loved it. but the misses hates the cold and the wet so it only happened once
.. KSRC group trip and i'm there.... But only cause i'll wanna beat Firey at something... plus he will be out of his temp zone

Re: Who goes to the snow?
Ski'd once about 5 years ago - didn't do so well as it was only a year or so after the broken leg.
Waiting until Zane is 4 (i.e. next year) before going again.

If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.

Re: Who goes to the snow?
Did two days of snowboarding in NZ a couple of years ago.
Enjoyed it, but between passionately hate, hate, hating the cold and not needing *yet another* expensive hobby, that will probably be it!

Re: Who goes to the snow?
You don't have an option for "I live near the snow and that's as cold as I want to get"...

Re: Who goes to the snow?
Skiing, used to go regularly as a kid as we had an associate membership at a lodge at smiggins hole.
Fast forward through some 12 years without skiing and i went in about 2000 with some friends on a 2 day trip from Sydney and I was the only one with any experience with snow at all (I was also the only one whom didn't fall on their arse two dozen times & consequently whinged & bitched about it*)
Then I went skiing in Canada with my (now) wife in 2006 for a week and will be going to NZ (Mt Hutt specifically) in a couple of weeks time.
It's cold, you can get wet, especially if you don'tget the balance thing right, butonce you get the hang of it, it's worth it!

Re: Who goes to the snow?
Did cross country big time as a kid until late teens in Vic high country, then I found out ski-lifts were a good thing from then on but expensive in comparison.
