Seen it ten times, he swerved to avoid the tree but shouldn't have been it that position to start with

Remember too that it would be left hand drive so that tree would look a hell of a lot closer than the cyclists .... And not as squishy

Re: SMIDSY
Shits me with this usual typical cage driver attitude against cyclists and in some part motorcyclists, more worried about their car than other humans and having to give way or being held up for a few seconds. They mostly cant drive or plan ahead 10meters because they are too busy texting, makeup application, eating, just being in a hurry and not looking. Also ignorant ass holes that treat cyclists as subhuman and think they deserve what that car did to those cyclists in the above story and I have met plenty.
Yes I was an amateur competetive cyclist for most of my life and would still be if I could physically ride one and have had more than my share of idiot drivers trying to kill me and spent months recovering from hit and runs. I learnt to take up the whole lane on multi lane roads because of this and If you dont like it pull over and I will explain it too you
Cyclists have every right to be there, the law says so, if you dont like it go and lobby for the law to be changed, sick and tired of this attitude that cyclists are menaces and dont pay to be on the road, well here is the news neither do pedestrians, horses, shopping trollies, native animals or prams, I know way more motorcyclists that are far worse on the road, myself included. To me it is no different to any other obstacle on the road, gravel, animals, kids, dickhead slow aresd motorcyclists who cant ride for shite and think they can, trucks, caravans, water, oil, cow shit, read the environment and plan ahead, use your brain for once. I would also say most of you rode a pushie, encourage your kids to ride a pushy, if you have you cant complain.
Ok I will give you a big tip, most of the time you can see they are up ahead or at least know that cyclists use this road, be prepared and slow down a bit it isnt a race track ffs, if you see them toot ya bloody horn once and they WILL shift over, geez how simple is that, I have never had a problem with cyclists on the road except the odd lunatic in the city shootin a red light. BTW two abreast is still legal afaik and is done in packs for safety reasons.
So until they change the law and you stop encouraging your kids to ride them then I suggest you deal with it as they wont go away, it isnt that hard to share the road.
He without sin cast the first stone

Re: SMIDSY
Wow Jonno, didn't mean to hit a nerve, it was meant as a piss take, it fair dinkum looked like the car driver swerved at them, thus the comment.
The same dickhead cyclists are equal to the same dickhead motorists unfortunately the minority give the majority a bad name. The only thing I would say is if you saw me running on the road doing 10km/h per hour in a 60 km/h zone taking up 1m of a lane you would say I was a dickhead, the same applies to those who are riding, walking, driving whatever but doing it because it is their "right" A little common courtesy from all would go along way
