Not the greatest photo, seems Nokia E71's are crap at taking them,

Akrapovics are on, Road 3's are on,

Tank Cover and bag are on back order, ditto the givi system.

Going riding now:D

Awesome congratulations!

Nokia E71 has the worst camera I've seen in recent memory - I had one for a year and it sucked.

I was impressed with this bike when I had it over a weekend when released , very easy to ride and does what it was designed to do well. With a bit of suspension tweaking it will be a great bike.

I would like to hear your thoughts after a few months

Suspension tweaking has already commenced,

Went up 2 notches of preload for the rear, 1 for the front, and going to raise the forks in the trees at the first service, this has been commencted on in a few OS forums (US have had this thing on the showroom floors for abotu 12 months already) and all say that the 5mm drop assists with this vague wishy washy hesitation that it seems to have at and just after initial turn in, i had the exact same problem with the ZX9 and the same fix worked on it too.

I also had fitted a 55 series rear Road 3 so in essence, when the forks are done, it will have been tipped up on its nose by 10mm

The Rear shock only has Compression and preload to play with, no rebound, BUT, and this is a big but, the shock mounts etc look remarkably similar to a 2011 ZX10..... Brad at Parra Kawasaki is going to measure them up at some point as he has already dropped a rear shock from an 09 ZX10 onto his 98 C1, failing that, might be a need for an ohlins.

having said that, I frakking love this bike, its got plenty of grunt down low and the handling puts it in the thought controlled class, now, this could just be because ive gotten off the land whale but DAMN this thing is good in a corner.

I just need to learn to ride again now, 6 years of ZX12 and ZX14 and ive developed some disgusting habits in terms of throttle and gear use...

How is this different to the Z1000 as far as riding position etc. goes?

Does it have the same forks/frame/swingarm and just different pegs/bars/seat, or does it just share the engine/box and everything else is loads different?

I know it's got fairings and a Z1000 doesn't, no need to point that out

Great stuff, looking forward to any further updates. This bike is at the top of my list for a 'real world' sportsbike.

From what I've read, I believe the only difference in ergos is that the bars are back 10mm compared to the naked bike. Another factor that might come in to play is that the tank is a different shape to cram in some more litres of fuel.

Massive laziness Supa, the 12 or the 14 you pretty much stick it in 3rd and leave it there, this thing makes you work for your grins

From what little i know and saw of the Zthou last week, the bars are completely different.

On the Z1000 they seem to be one piece, fairly low slung.

On the Ninja thou, the bars are what you could reasonably call High rise clip ons, those bubbles in the screen arent decorative, when its in the steering lock position, the right side bar is right up under that screen, if it was a tradtional screen it wouldnt last long.

The way this was explained is that the ninja 1000 is a z1000 with a retuned motor for more bottom end and better ergonomics, and has a 19litre tank for better range.
